Insulating Concrete Form Footings |
Water Drainage Even though you are on a hill or in wyoming (or in other areas) dont let builders tell you that you wont need waterproofings here. The moisture content in the ground is much higher then that inside your home. with differences in humidty and tempature you still can have moisture movement from the ground into your home. Insulating Concrete Construction always builds with some sort of waterproofing. And with that waterproofing comes a drain system. You can see at the bottom of the waterproofing we have a french drain either to daylight or a sump depending on your site plan. Radon & Methane ventalation No matter where you build there is small to great chance of gases from the ground entering your home. Even if the gas is heavier then air it can often enter your home. It all depends on the humidty levels and tempatures on movement of gases that goes beyond gravitys pull on gases. At insulating Concrete Construction we put in passive radon ventalation systems either out the roof or to daylight again dependant on your site plan.

No furring needed The nice thing about Insulating concrete forms is that they require no extra furring. Aluminum forms are pulled off then you have to atatch furring strips to atatch sheet rock to and create a space to run plumbing and electrical wire adding time and cost onto your home. On insulating concrete forms you have a poly propolene web where sheet rock or cabinents can atatch directly to it. It is even easy to find the places to screw into the wall as well. In the corner is one of these webs you put a tape measure up along the wall and every six inches along your measuring tape you will find a web to screw into.
